Work Experience
The Washington Post
Senior Software Engineer
December 2021 - Present
I work on the Discovery team helping design and build the gaming
platform and the games themselves, including the second most played
crossword in the world, Wridges, Keyword, On the Record, with
Wridges and Keyword being my sole responsibility. I also contributed
to the Washington Post home page and article pages, building Python
Lambdas for site functionality like creating and updating sitemaps
when articles are published or updated.
Previously, I worked with the Subscriptions' authentication/identity
and payments teams maintaining and developing new shared
JavaScript/TypeScript and React component libraries used across many
web applications. I've also added Playwright integration testing for
critical application flows run in existing CI/CD process, improved
the CI/CD pipeline to reduce time and resource usage, and automated
parts of the team workflow to improve developer productivity. I also
built dynamic image generation API using Lambda for sharing images
with user specific data for Washington Post's Year in Review
feature.
